TANGERINE was founded in 2014.

It was founded by two sisters from Houston, TX, with the initial mission to bring affordable South Asian fashion that is current-in-trend overseas.

We specialize in contemporary fashion. Casual to Special Occasion Wear. 

About The Tangerine Sisters

Growing up as immigrant children in the US, we always felt distant and difficult to connect to our roots. Dressing up in ethnic clothing and attending events paved the way for us to feel close to our culture. As time went by, it was harder for our family back in India to send us clothing overseas, which introduced us to our local market. Soon, we realized that not only us but our friends around were very discontented about the overwhelming prices on clothing that were not current-in-trend. 

In 2014 I [Sharmitha], a freshman in college, discovered my growing passion for venturing into Indo-Western Clothing and decided to take the leap. Krishmitha, my younger sister, who was in high school at that time, and I decided to come together and create our brand Tangerine. Over the past seven years, we are blessed to have been a part of our Tangeriners' special events. Tangerine inspired us both to pursue a degree in Business from the University of Houston. 

Clothing allows us to define who we are, our moods, where we are from, and what we stand for. It's such an integral part of our lives, and we believe everyone should have the opportunity to dress as they would like. Tangerine is not only about clothing but also stands for the diversity amongst us all and the belief that every person should be confident regardless of their differences. At Tangerine, we believe you are the most beautiful when you are authentically yourself.
